I got to see the wonderful Canadian country singer Daniel Romano at The State Theater Falls Church VA. May 23rd 2013. Not the best venue. But he is back on June 10th at Iota, which is a much better venue. I hope to get some more images.
Some of the photos have been used with permission on his social media pages https://www.facebook.com/danielromanomusic and in the Princely review blog by my old old friend Sir Prince http://williamhenryprince.com/daniel-romano-sleep-beneath-the-willow/
Sam Knee has selected an old photo of mine for the cover of his new book "A Scene In Between: Fashion and Independent Music in the UK 1983-89". The shot was taken outside the old Western Star Domino Club near St Pauls in Bristol, 15th May 1987. Loop were supporting The Wishing Stones that night and staying in my place after this show before heading out in a shitty van to another shitty venue. The band then was Robert, James, Bex and Glen (not in this image). Sam is using around a dozen images including some Feb 1985 Jesus and Mary Chain live snaps with an awful pocket camera plus some snaps of Endeacott and myself being stylish men about (small) town. It's been a fun project to get involved in and Sam has been a real gent. Next question is what to do with the rest of the archive.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1908714069/ref=pe_11480_30188220_emwa_email_title_1
Photos from the MacArthur Beverages 28th Annual Barrel Tasting. Featuring the 2010 & 2011 Vintages. http://www.bassins.com/2013californiabarrel/info.html
UPDATE: The set in use. http://www.bassins.com/wine/us/futures/index.php
Andy Creemer from MacArthur Beverages asked me to capture some images from the event for their website http://www.bassins.com. This was quite a challenge due to the flat indoor lighting at the Mandarin Oriental Ballroom and the fact it was an unusual event for me to attempt. I think I got a few worthy images though.... http://jamesfinch.zenfolio.com/macarthurbeverages
'A Scene In-between' by Sam Knee. Book due to be published late 2013. Several late 1980's band photos are in consideration.
The Sun Carriage. Hull Adelphi Club. 1988 (?)
Leica Store DC held a juried exhibition. "DC As I See It". Out of 155 submittals I had 1 photo selected for the print stage of approx 50 images. Unfortunately I did not make it into the final 26 for the exhibit. Still, an interesting experience and not bad for my first attempt. http://jamesfinch.zenfolio.com/dcasiseeit
I have supplied various images from over the years for Mark's archive and social media pages. This one is from June 2005 in rehearsal in London.

Sunn O))) at the Black Cat Sept 6th 2012. I posted a shot in the DCist Blog Flickr pool that was selected as Photo of the Day. This was from one of the most sonically intense shows I've ever seen. It was very tough to get a shot in the dim light, thick stage smoke, heat and sheer crushing volume. http://dcist.com/2012/09/photo_of_the_day_september_7_2012.php
Sonic Youth Mean Fiddler, London, July 12, 1987 showing Paul Smith and Pat from Sonic Life fanzine.
Loop from 1987 (?) packing the tour van showing Jeff Barrett.
I posted a shot in the DCist Blog Flickr pool that was selected in their round up of Memorial Day photos. http://dcist.com/2011/06/photo_booth_rolling_thunder.php#photo-26
Songran April 17th 2011. I posted a shot in the DCist Blog Flickr pool that was selected as Photo of the day.

Nick Cave. Grinderman. 16th November 2010. The tour invited local photographers to submit sample shots to be invited as guest photographer for the first few songs of the show. I was selected for the 9:30 Club DC show and given a spot stage left. It was a nerve wracking experience. I had a new camera that I had never used at a show and the 4 songs were brutally fast and dynamic with harsh stage lights projected cross stage. Truth be told, I would have had more luck from the audience. All copyright is owned by Grinderman. Absolutely no use without their permission.

The Howling Hex. XI. Neil Michael Hagerty. CD inside cover. Live shots from Iota March 15th 2007. I sent the images from the show to Drag City Records. Neil Michael Hagerty contacted me for use on the CD. All the shots on the bottom row are from Iota.

Meghan Hayes. Go and Give the Guard a Break. CD Cover.
Meghan asked me to take a series of images for her CD cover. The final image was taken against the cedar planking of the old Westover library in Arlington before it was demolished. The image was then reversed and manipulated by Teenbeat Graphics.
Ned Oldham requested permission to use a live photo from the Anomoanon show at The Talking Head Club, Baltimore 15th Oct 2003 inside the CD cover of The Derby Ram album. The image was adapted into a woodcut style.

I was invited by Ned Oldham to submit images for Vice Magazine's article on Anomoanon. They used a live shot from 31st Oct 2002 Halloween gig at the Talking Head Club Baltimore in both the print and online versions.
